A Season of Hope. All Dogs Go To Heaven.

A few years ago I challenged myself to sit and write everyday about HOPE. This year hope seems to be getting lost.

I have always believed that animals (especially DOGS) are a better judge of people than we are. We had a gymnast staying with us during Thanksgiving and our dog just LOVED her. Where she was- so was Cooper. We have had other people stay with us and I believe Cooper is a great judge of character.

This is NOT my story. But from one of my friends/ staff members at Atlantic Gymnastics. I have changed the names for their privacy.

I just watched my mail carrier get teary.

Our dog is getting big which our mail carrier noticed from afar so we strolled over and had a little chat. He then told me the following:
Him: I was so glad when I saw that you guys got another dog…after that letter.
Me: What letter???
Him: Your son…he uh wrote a letter. (waiting for recognition)
Me:….
Him: I found a plain envelope in the mail addressed the “Heaven” so I brought it home and opened it with my wife. It was a letter to your old dog HAL in heaven about how much your son misses him and what a good dog he was. We cried for a solid…well. I was happy to see you get another dog. That letter is something that will stick with me.

We can all have HOPE.
